UNFPA is the United Nations specialized agency for the realization of a world where every pregnancy is desired, each delivery is safe and the potential of each young person is realized. The UNFPA strategic plan ( 2022-2025 ) reaffirms the relevance of the current strategic orientation of UNFPA and emphasizes three transformative results: putting an end to preventable maternal deaths ; end unmet need for family planning; and end gender-based violence and other harmful practices.These results reflect our strategic commitments to accelerate progress towards achieving the objectives of the International Conference on Population and Development ( CIPD ) and the Sustainable Development Goals ( ODD) during the decade of action leading to 2030. Context
UNFPA is looking for candidates who transform, inspire and produce lasting and high impact results; we need transparent staff, exceptional in the management of the resources entrusted to them and which commit to achieving excellence in the results of the program. To strengthen its communication, the Representation of the United Nations Population Fund ( UNFPA ) in the Republic of Congo is recruiting a ( e ) United Nations Volunteers, Communication Specialist.
Task description
Under the responsibility of the Representative, and the direct supervision of the Assistant to the Representative, the national UNV velops and ensures the implementation of the communication and advocate strategy of the office. It promotes the image of UNFPA, supports advocacy activities initiated by the office and ensures the dissemination of information relating to program activities. Specifically, this will involve: ● Developing working relationships with various entities in order to promote the image and actions of UNFPA, ● Formulating and contributing to the implementation of a communication strategy and advocacy, along with a communication plan for UNFPA activities, ● Contribute to forcing partnerships with organizations and institutions operating in the field of population and development, including the private sector and associations, ● Create nuclei of partners on the main themes of interest to UNFPA, namely: reproductive rights, gender equality and men’s responsibility, and the fight against HIV / AIDS, ● Collect and disseminate relevant information on UNFPA activities as well as new initiatives launched, ● Ensuring the animation of the United Nations newsletter by writing articles relating to UNFPA activities; ● Ensure the publication of an annual UNFPA bulletin for 2022, and quarterly bulletins for 2023, through information from the office’s annual report and additional information to be collected from UNFPA staff and partners ● Ensure the animation of the UNFPA website and social media pages ( Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube ) ; ● Establishment and manage an image bank on UNFPA activities and communicate to the relevant units at headquarters, on a regular basis, images and reports on innovative initiatives in the field; ● Arrange and coordinate interviews given by UNFPA staff to both national and international media outputs; ● Perform and discharge any other duties assigned to him by his supervisor and which may be required by UNFPA in general. on a regular basis, images and reports on innovative initiatives in the field; ● Arrange and coordinate interviews given by UNFPA staff to both national and international media outputs; ● Perform and discharge any other duties assigned to him by his supervisor and which may be required by UNFPA in general. on a regular basis, images and reports on innovative initiatives in the field; ● Arrange and coordinate interviews given by UNFPA Staff to both national and international media outputs; ● Perform and discharge any other duties assigned to him by his supervisor and which may be required by UNFPA in general.

Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in The volunteer Specialist in communication and social mobilization, must have the following skills and qualifications: ● Relevant training with a higher university degree ( Bac + 3 at least ) in Communication or any related field; ● Experience of at least 2 years confirmed in organizational communication; ● A mastery of the French language, the practice of English is an asset; ● Excellent communication and writing skills in French; ● Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural team; ● Immediate availability and throughout the period of the mission.

he Republic of Congo is a unique country and UNFPA country program is a unique operation. It provides for an interesting and enriching environment, but also requires a mature level of cultural awareness, as well as more stamina and commitment than elsewhere to make life comfortable and affordable.
