Acted
For thirty years, the international NGO Acted has been working on the last mile of humanitarian action to save lives. Acted currently supports 20 million people in 43 countries to meet their needs in hard-to-reach areas, and pursues a triple humanitarian, environmental and development mandate. Acted draws on a detailed knowledge of local territories and contexts to develop and implement long-term actions, with a wide range of local and international partners, in order to build together a “3ZERO” world: Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty.
Acted Burkina Faso
The northern regions of Burkina Faso currently face a fragile political and security context, marked in particular by a complex multidimensional crisis. There were just over a million displaced people in the country at the beginning of 2021.
Acted’s mission in Burkina Faso began in 2019 to provide support to populations affected by the security and humanitarian crisis, provide its expertise in rapid response and emergency situations, while strengthening response capacities and coordination between humanitarian and development actors.
Les interventions d’Acted Burkina Faso sont multisectorielles, flexibles et inclusives dont l’objectif est de répondre aux besoins urgents des populations. Dès ses premières interventions, Acted Burkina Faso se concentre sur l’aide humanitaire la plus nécessaire : réponse aux besoins en sécurité alimentaire, en eau, hygiène et assainissement (EHA), en abris et articles ménagers essentiels et enfin en coordination et intégration de la protection. En parallèle, et suite à l’évolution de la crise humanitaire, Acted accompagne le gouvernement sur la gestion des sites d’accueil temporaires et sites informels. L’initiative REACH permet à l’ensemble de la communauté humanitaire de renforcer l’analyse des besoins humanitaires, notamment à travers un projet de suivi de la situation humanitaire dans 4 régions, la mise en place d’une évaluation multisectorielle pays pour appuyer le processus HNO/HRP 2021 et des évaluations territoriales.
In the North region, Acted provides assistance in food security and livelihoods, water, hygiene and sanitation, shelter and essential household items. Acted supports the government in the management of the displacement sites of Ouahigouya and Seguenega. The organization plans very soon to support the logistics cluster in the management of a humanitarian warehouse and the sharing of information with partners.
Main role and responsibilities
The Technical Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination and support, strategic planning and technical support for activities in a given geographical area, in a given sector. He/she plays a key role in providing technical elements for the sector strategy and the development of the project at the local and national level. In addition, he/she supports the project team for the planning, design, implementation, supervision, potential deployments and administrative management of the technical interventions in the sector.

Qualifications and skills required
- Degree in a relevant field of expertise;
- At least 5 years of experience in implementing projects in the field, preferably in an international context;
- Have a strong team spirit;
- Familiarity with the aid system and ability to understand donor and government requirements;
- Excellent communication and writing skills;
- Capacité à coordonner et à gérer le personnel et les activités du projet;
- Proven ability to work creatively and independently, both in the field and in the office;
- Ability to organize and plan effectively;
- Ability to work with groups of people from different cultures;
- Capacité à voyager et à travailler dans des conditions difficiles et sous pression ;
- Fluent English is required;
Terms
- Salary defined by the Acted salary scale according to the level of education, expertise, security level and level of experience: between €3,100 and €3,300 net monthly (before income tax)
- Indemnité mensuelle de frais de vie 300$
- Logement en guesthouse et nourriture pris en charge par Acted
- Social security, mutual insurance (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) covered by Acted
- Transportation to the mission and return ticket fully covered every 6 months (to the address specified on the employment contract)
- Visa fees covered by Acted
- R&R every 3 months (airfare covered up to $500 + additional $200 allowance)
- A week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
- Possibility of having a 30-minute call with a tax consultant
- Soutien psychologique (rendez-vous avec un.e professionnel.le)
