The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, author of the provocative piece claiming Trump called Americans who died in war “losers” and “suckers” defended his anonymous sources while on CNN with Brian Stelter.
“We all have to use anonymous sources, especially in a climate where the president of the United States tries to actively intimidate,” Goldberg told Stelter “These are not people who are anonymous to me.” In addition, he defended billionaire publication owner Laurene Powell Jobs and called Trump’s tweet against her a threat.
Trump wrote Sunday “Steve Jobs would not be happy that his wife is wasting money he left her on a failing Radical Left Magazine that is run by a con man (Goldberg) and spews FAKE NEWS & HATE.” He added “Call her, write her, let her know how you feel!!!”
The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, on whether Trump’s tweet targeting Laurene Powell Jobs should be seen as a threat: Jeffrey Goldberg said “”I spent a lot of my career covering dictatorships… It is a threat. It is meant to intimidate.”
“We are not going to be intimidated by the President,” says the Atlantic’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg as Pres. Trump continues to hammer the publication over its report that he made disparaging reports about the US’s fallen dead. “We’re going to do our jobs,” he adds.
